One ticket please

Two more new designs of cards, which only come in red! The one ticket to the party bus card was inspired by a bus ride taken in the south of Vietnam....you could see through the floor of the bus to the ground. It was a red rusted old style one which I traveled on and had the best time with the locals. Even though at one point I was not sure if I was going to make it to the destination alive. Good times!

More Stockist.

Lately I have been neglecting my little blog posts, I have been rather busy now sewing a few days a week for a small independant label! I had forgotten how much I really love making clothes and that each week I walk away with a feeling of such satisfaction that people are going to eventually buy, wear and love those garments that have had so much effort put into making them.

On another note I have two new shops stocking my cards!

The Cats Meow which is located in the Flinders street subway, a little shop that supports and stocks local textiles, accessories and one of pieces from independent designers around Australia.

And also in Parhran called Northside Wheelers, which is worth a ride across the river just to visit this little store that is full of cycling wears and now my bike cards.

Both worth checking out!!!!

Easter break

I have just come back from my little Easter holiday in which I spent a few days in Far East Gippsland. The weather was amazing and we even managed to get in a few swims at the beach. On the way back we decided to check out Cape Conran which is off the highway near Orbost. What a beautiful little hidden place that was!

I have just got a new place that is stoking my cards.

You can now find them at the Local Shop at 262 High Street in Northcote!

I also now have gift tag packs which come in a set of five, you can find them on my etsy page alifisherdesign.etsy.com.

Three Flowers card

For the love of Coffee Card

Coota Sandpipers Card

Scales Pattern Card

This last card was developed from the inspiration of fish and their scales. I have a little bit of a soft spot for the ocean as it has been a big part of my life growing up and living near the beach. Every weekend was spent combing the beaches, swimming or fishing there and now that I live in Melbourne I miss my regular escape to the ocean. Therefore I have developed some of my cards and cushions with the sea side influence in mind...Maybe its time for a little escape again.

The stables and the convent.

This weekend was a busy one. On Friday I ventured to Bairnsdale in East Gippsland for a night market called the Artisans Bazaar , held at the Stables in the center of town. It was the 4th Market to be held so far which started a little slow but heaps of fun as they had good food and live music.
I also got to catch up with the folks and bring back a heap of home grown food from there garden! Everything has been going wild and the little vally that the house overlooks was bright green due to all the rain they have had.
The same weekend I did my first Abbotsdord convent market on the Sunday, I was so happy to be back there as its such a fun day in a beautiful location. It was the first time with all my new products and the feedback was great.

New prints!!!

I have finally received my new designs on screens, both for fabric and paper. So I have been really busy printing and getting ready for my first market of 2011. I'll be at the convent in Abbotsford in a few weeks time.
I have completed all the printing on my packaging...well most of it, there is still a little to go and now I'm going to make some business cards up.

Be Free

I found this little design on a wall just around the corner from my house and had to take a photo of it! Its been ages since i've posted on here and thought it was about time to get back into being creative and doing what I love after a well deserved 6 months of being a bit of a free spirit!
I am finding that after spending time in central Queensland living with my older brother and then heading overseas for a few weeks to South East Asia that i've come back ready to let the creativity flow....and at the moment it can't stop. So i've been putting together lots of new designs for screen prints and developing new products which will hopefully be out in the world by mid next month. Fingers crossed.
